Music can help a lot in our learning a new language and nowadays it is not difficult to listen and meet new bands, singers with the help of programs/applications like spotify.
Through them we meet new artists and bands that in our case would be Japanese, we have several options to listen to. It's a good option for more and more we input the Japanese language.
What is spotify?
A music streaming service where you don't need to download anything, a kind of music netflix, and you can create your account for free and listen to millions of songs that are available on the platform.
It has the Free versions where it is accompanied by ads and random order to listen and the Premium where you can listen with the best quality available and you can download it to listen offline on your computer or smartphone.
Japanese artists and bands available on spotify
I did a search on the spotify app for Windows and found many Japanese bands and artists, but some have only one song and others the album is not complete. I believe it's normal and over time more and more songs will be added.
Most are also unverified, similar to youtube channels and Facebook pages, see the example in the image below of a band that had its artist profile verified:
Note that in the band's profile image there is a kind of ?visa? with blue background that confirms that the band is verified. O spotify teaches you how to verify your account if you are an artist.
So you don't waste time and check if your favorite artist is available, even if it's just a song, right after I'll list a good part of the Japanese artists and bands I found in alphabetical order, but you can also see the J-Tracks category with hundreds of options.

Some South Korean artists also make Japanese language versions of their songs, we have the example of the singer IU (Lee Ji-eun).
Japanese song lyrics on spotify
There's nothing better than leveraging your input even further by listening and reading at the same time. Spotify since February 26, 2015 has made available the lyrics of most of the songs thanks to the partnership with Musixmatch app, available for smartphones and windows.
In the lower left corner of your screen there is the option Letters and when you click on it, it's loaded to the app, inside spotify itself, where you can see and follow the lyrics.
In the following video you can see how simple it is to use this option:
Note that it is also possible to contribute and even correct the lyrics, some have a delay in relation to the audio, the songs and improve even more.
Does listening to music help to improve and learn the studied language?
I'm not sure if it helps to learn, it could be in pronunciation or to learn new words, but we've already seen that learning single words doesn't help much in learning, sentences/sentences is much more efficient.
as the Sensei Luiz Rafael said is one more complement and to always keep in touch with the language we are studying/learning.You can watch the video where he talks about music in language study.
I hope that you enjoyed! If you find more artists that were not mentioned, leave a comment and I will update the article.
